The other weekend we were blessed to meet a very special boy, and Isaiah’s future BFF, Levi.
We previously met Levi’s parents, Ashlee and Josh, and we connected with them right away. It felt like we had been friends for a long time. It’s funny how just going through a similar tough situation can make you feel so close.
John and I were thrilled that we finally got to meet their amazing little boy. Levi is also diagnosed with semi-lobar holoprosencephaly. He is 29 months old now and he is doing great. He certainly beat all of the odds that were stacked against him. He is amazing doctors with his progress. And he is so adorable! Although he can’t express his thoughts and feelings in the same way as us, we can tell that he is very happy and that he loves his parents so much.
With no question, Josh and Ashlee agree that they would gladly go though the whole experience again if they had the choice. Their love for Levi is so amazing.
Something that Ashlee said really stuck with me. She said that Levi was going to drag them to heaven with him, whether they like it or not. And while funny, it is so true. Isaiah has already changed us in a way that no one else can imagine. He has opened up our hearts and taught us to accept the will of God.
Meeting Levi renewed our hope in Isaiah’s future. While we know every child with this diagnosis has unique challenges and struggles, seeing a little boy with so much happiness and such a bright personality helps us to remember that we are all special in our own ways. Life is what we make of it.
That is a really great picture, thanks for sharing it. Levi and his parents sound as amazing as you and John. Every day we learn something new,and there are many paths God can send us on. Sometimes I have to admit I look up and ,with hands outstreched exclaim ” WHAT!!”, Then go and learn what Im going to learn even if I wasnt willing ,and like Isaiah”s diagnosis,Ive neaver heard of it before,OOOHH but its out there, and now we are all blessed to learn about the beautiful child Isaiah, gods gift to all of us,and his special journey.I thank you for letting me come along.
