We have been very busy taking Isaiah to appointments lately. He has so many “ologists” it is hard to keep them all straight! But, we know we are doing everything we can to keep our little man happy and healthy.
Isaiah had a follow up appointment with his pediatrician. He has gained weight since the hospital, and he is now 14 pounds! He got all of his shots, so he is good to go. He is still a healthy little guy.
He had a follow up visit with his ophthalmologist. She noted that he might be farsighted. We are supposed to watch and make sure he is not crossing his eyes. If he does, he will need glasses. Otherwise, he will probably need them between 2 and three years. I don’t know how you can tell such a thing on a little guy, but I guess she knows what she is talking about.
He had a follow up visit with the neurologist. We didn’t really learn too much at this appointment. We are just to make sure we don’t see any seizure like activity. As far as development goes, it is still a wait and see game. We don’t have to follow up here for six months unless something comes up.
He started to see a physical therapist. I was not present at the appointment, but John was given some more stretches and exercises that we can do with him. He is starting to fall behind in some areas, but she tested a reflex that kiddos have at his age that may indicate whether he may walk or not, and he had it. So we never know, but we are hopeful that he may be able to walk someday!
He had home visits from his occupational therapist and his home care nurse. His occupational therapist still thinks that he is doing pretty well, and she has spent a lot of time with him. His home care nurse thinks he is doing well.
Next week he follows up with the endocrinologist. They will check his sodium levels again and make sure his medication is still correct for his diabetes insipidus.
Isaiah is still doing great. He is as happy and smiley as ever. This last picture makes me laugh. He can be so silly!

OH the pictures are so cute,he sure is tough, I still look the otherway when I get a shot. Im hopeing they can use the patches instead of a needle soon, fat chance it will happen in my life time. You know I had to laugh when you said you were seeing another ologist, when I was in college I thought I might get an Ology degree, every class that ended in ology I took ,I had bucket loads if them, however ,there was no degree, too bad I could have gotted my Masters degree I had so many credits. Now they have Drs.(I was before my time.) Im keeping you in my daily thoughts and prayers.
